The setting sun turned the sky red at the horizon. The colours of sky were reflected on the waters. The dreamy atmosphere was enhanced by the silhouettes near the waterline on the beach.
Kalamb Beach is near Nallasopara town in Maharashtra. It is a wide and unpolluted beach. Bikes and cars are often seen on the beach at low tide.

The camera is Canon EOS 550D. Lens is Canon prime lens 50mm f/1.8-23. It was used at an aperture of f/8.0. Exposure time was 1/50 sec.
Oval Maidan is a popular ground for cricket, with several matches often being played at the same time. It is listed as a silent zone. Political and religious functions are therefore not permitted here.
It is located close to Churchgate station in Mumbai. On eastern side of Oval Maidan are the majestic 19th century Gothic buildings of University of Mumbai and Mumbai High Court. Towards the western side are Nariman Point and Mantralaya. Nariman Point was built on land reclaimed from Arabian Sea.

Lazim is a vigorous dance form which is popular in the state of Maharashtra. It has an energetic rhythm to it. I came across this group of dancers on Gudi Padva day. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces. I captured the image from up close using my smartphone.
The photo was featured on Flickr Explore on 22 March at #235.
The dancers were in Vasai and moving to the beat of drums. There was a lead dancer who was followed by young girls and boys who showed a lot of enthusiasm.

The old wooden boat seemed abandoned on the beach. It was colourful but was sorely in need of a coat of paint. There was a glow in the sky at sunset. I composed the frame with the boat in the lower foreground. In the background is the beach and sky.
This is Kalamb Beach in Maharashtra. It is to the west of Nallasopara town. The beach is wide and mostly deserted. The sea comes in at high tide as the sea is not deep near the beach.

The lens on my Canon EOS 550D camera was EF50mm f/1.8 II. The aperture was at its widest setting of f/1.8 so that the depth of field was limited. Exposure time was 1/1000sec.
I was riding my Honda Activa last week when I came across the beautiful bougainvillea in bloom. It was on the side of a winding street and the flowers hung over it. I composed the shot in such a way that the bougainvillea took up nearly half the frame. The lady in a bright yellow saree added a spot of colour.

I captured the image on a road leading to Naigaon. Although not many people were on the road, there was a surprising amount of vehicular traffic including BMW and Mercedes cars. So I had to wait for a window when the road was clear of cars.
